What is International Master in Business (IMB)?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center formerly MISB Bocconi’s International Master in Business is a Post-Graduate Program, a Full-Time program with two 11-month modules. The IMB Program draws from Bocconi’s academic experience in post-graduate education, following the same standards of rigor and content as other internationally recognized and highly ranked business schools. It is designed and based on the Masters In Management Offered By Bocconi in Milan and ranked 10th Worldwide currently.
Who is the International Master in Business For?
The IMB is targeted and tailored to the needs of students having 0-5 years of average work experience with strong academic background and motivation to develop a career as managers or entrepreneurs. The program has a strong emphasis on international exposure with 80% of faculty coming from various nationalities and a 4 month specialization semester in Milan which is compulsory and a core part of the program.
What certification does SDA Bocconi Asia Center award after completion of IMB?
IMB candidates will be awarded a Diploma in International Business issued by SDA Bocconi School of Management which has a Triple crown of accreditation – AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA.
What are the specializations being offered in the IMB?
IMB includes a variety of specialized courses in the second year of the program.
The specialization happens during a 4-month semester in Bocconi, Milan where IMB candidates will have the opportunity to choose among a wide variety of specialized courses from different Departments, thus building their own specialized track and study with exchange students that come to Bocconi Milan from different nationalities.
How many students would be admitted for IMB ?
The Internation Master in Business is a Post Graduate Program with a total of 116 seats for the intake of 2018-20 Batch.
What are the official accreditations of Bocconi?
Bocconi is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education.
SDA Bocconi School of Management is one of the few business schools in the world to hold the “triple crown” accreditation, which is awarded by three of the most prestigious school accreditation associations worldwide (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA).

Is the IMB accredited in India?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center formerly MISB Bocconi is following international quality standards and hence does not seek national accreditations.
Is the IMB at SDA Bocconi Asia Center is comparable to a PGP diploma from one of the IIMs?
Yes, the IMB has similar guidelines in terms of contents, quality, and preparation as the top management institutes in India.
Does the IMB provide any international exposure ?
The IMB aims to bring an international perspective that is strongly rooted in the Indian context. It is the ideal program for students seeking an international outlook in India. International outlook is provided by its teaching content, the highly reputed international faculty coming from all over the world, as well as international study opportunities. Participants have the chance to take one semester at Bocconi campus in Milan, where they study with 14,000 other students from over 80 nations. This provides a unique opportunity to understand global issues and make an international network. In addition to this, the Asia Center will host the Master of Science students from Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy every January/February for a 3-week Campus Abroad Program from several nationalities, Master of Science from ESADE Business School, Barcelona – Spain every year for a one-week Study Tour from several nationalities, Executive MBA Students from the Rotman School of Management every year for their Omnium Global Executive MBA Program, Master of Science from ESSEC Paris and Bocconi double degree for the fall semester and finally GEMBA students of a module from SDA Bocconi Milano. All of this provides an extremely international and cross cultural experience to our Postgraduate students from the IMB Batch.
What are the prerequisites for admission to the International Master in Business?
The selection process is based on an overall analysis of various factors. On one hand, applicants must score well on formal admission requirements: bachelor degree and test scores. On the other hand, it evaluates soft skills and talents, such as enthusiasm, ability to listen, concentration, involvement, responsibility, motivation to grow as a manager and a person. Admission to the IMB depends on a rigorous selection process, meant not only to determine whether candidates are suitable for the program, but also whether the program will meet each candidate’s expectations and career goals.
Students must possess:
- An undergraduate degree in any discipline. The original degree certificate must be handed to the Admissions Office by September 2018.
- An official test score: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT – taken in and after Jan 2015), Common Admission Test (CAT – 2016 and 2017), Graduate Record Examinations (GRE – taken in and after Jan 2015), NMAT 2016/2017, CMAT 2017/2018. In addition, the Bocconi test will be conducted for students who have not taken any of the above tests or if the scores are not satisfactory.

Is there a cut-off score for the GMAT/ GRE/ CAT/CMAT/NMAT by GMAC?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center formerly MISB Bocconi does not indicate any “cut off” restriction; a high test score is definitely helpful, but – for instance – an average score could be compensated by the candidate’s excellence in other areas.
Is it mandatory to take the GMAT/ GRE/ CAT before applying to the IMB?
Yes. If you don’t have any of these scores, or if your scores are not satisfactory, you can opt to take Bocconi Test.

Can I apply with a Test Centre/Unofficial GMAT/GRE/CAT Score Report?
Yes, you can. Official score reports should be provided during the enrolment process.
If I submit more than one GMAT/GRE score, which score will be considered for the IMB?
The higher score would be considered.
Where do I get a copy of the application form?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center formerly MISB Bocconi’s application form is available online. Once you begin the process, our counselors will guide you through it whenever you may need it.
What documents are required to be submitted with the application?
How will the school verify my transcripts/documents?
At the time of the personal Interview, you will need to bring all the original documents that will allow the Admissions Office to validate the photocopies/scans you will have sent.
Do you acknowledge receipt of application by mail?
Yes, you will receive an email confirming the receipt of your dossier.
I have not yet received my bachelor certificate. Can I apply?
Yes. Provisional certificates and/or transcripts of your academic career or your latest mark sheet are sufficient for the application. You will need to provide final original diploma upon receipt by September 2018.
I have already sent my dossier, but now I wish to add other documents?
In that case, candidate should carry the documents during the personal interview or email soft copy to firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you have a GD/Personal Interview as part of the admission criteria?
As a part of the admission process, only short listed candidates will be interviewed. There is no group discussion.
How many applicants are called for interview and how many get selected?
There is no fixed percentage of students being called by us either for interviews or for admission. The selection will be purely determined by the profile and quality of the candidates.
What will be the mode of my interview if I am overseas at the time of interview?
We conducts admission seminars and interviews on campus as well as in different cities of India. In case you are abroad or in a city where reaching is difficult at the moment, you will be interviewed over the phone/skype.
I have been invited for an interview. Which documents should I bring along?
If not already provided upon application, the applicant should bring
- a CV
- original transcripts and university certificates
- passport or valid ID proof ( driving license, Pan card, Voter ID, student ID card)
Who will be conducting the interview?
The interview will be conducted by a faculty or members of management team.
How do I accept the offer of admission?
You may accept the offer by remitting an admission fee of INR 250,000 + taxes as applicable within the deadline specified in the admission offer. If the amount has not been paid within the deadline, it will be assumed that the applicant is not interested in joining the Program. Each round is associated with a certain withdrawal policy.
How long does it take to receive admission information after having submitted an application?
The admissions team will get in touch with the shortlisted candidate after 24-48 hrs of submission.
Can I defer my enrolment to the next academic year?
Admission to the Program is valid for the year in which the application is submitted. Deferment may be requested for the year following the application, but confirmation of admission is at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. The admission fee will have to be paid for a valid deferment once allowed by the admission committee.
I have been rejected – can I reapply next year?
Yes. You can apply with a new test score that you did not submit in the previous application . Every year applications are reviewed afresh.
I am on the waiting list. What does that mean?
Waitlist Movement: Waitlisted candidates will not be allotted waitlisted numbers. At the end of each round, if there are withdrawals from accepted candidates, the waitlisted candidates might be offered a seat. The waitlisted candidates with higher total points/assessments will be accepted first and so on and so forth. The waitlisted candidates who do not get offered a seat in one round will be forwarded as a waitlisted candidate in the next round.
In the subsequent rounds, new waitlisted candidates will be combined with the remaining older waitlisted candidates of the previous round and the ones with higher total points will be given preference based on the number of available seats. All of this is subject to availability of seats and will be executed focusing on maintaining the overall quality of the class.
Can the admission offer acceptance date be extended?
No. The acceptance dates are fixed by the Admissions Committee. If the acceptance amount is not received by the due date it will be assumed that the applicant is not interested in the Program and the offer made to the applicant will stand withdrawn.
I have applied for a student loan at my bank. Can I wait to confirm my enrolment until I have received positive feedback on my loan acceptance?

How much is the application fees for IMB intake 2018?
The application fees for IMB Intake 2018 is INR 2000.
The application fee is non-refundable.
Are there different fee structures for Indian and International students?

I have paid the admission fee but due to unavoidable circumstances I am not able to join the Program. Will the admission fee be refunded to me?
No. The admission fee is refundable only till the dates mentioned after each round. Post that no fees will be refunded.
Does the tuition fee also cover housing?
No. Housing is subject to availability and rental fees are in addition to tuition fees.
I fulfill the admission criteria but will not be able to afford full tuition fee. Can MISB help?

How can an applicant apply for a tuition waiver?
You do not need to apply separately. Tuition waivers are awarded on the basis of merit. All applicants will be considered for them during the admission process.
Can I get a sponsorship from the company where I am working?
Yes. Applicants are encouraged to get themselves sponsored by their employers.
Are there any other criteria to be fulfilled by the applicant for getting sponsorship from their employer?
No, there are no separate admission criteria for such candidates and the regular admission procedure will apply.
How does one apply to companies for sponsorships?
Each company has its own policies on sponsoring of high potential employees. Please check the policy of sponsorship from the company you are currently employed with.
Is there a different fee structure for sponsored students?
No. The fee structure and the selection criteria are universally applicable.
Does Bocconi Milan or SDA Bocconi School of management has any accreditations?
SDA Bocconi, the management school of Università Bocconi, is one of the selected business schools worldwide to have received, for its MBA program, all three of the prestigious international accreditations—AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), and AMBA (Association of MBAs).
Is the program accredited to AICTE?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center has not sought accreditation for the International Master in Business from AICTE.
How many students normally go on international programs?
All the students attend the semester at Bocconi in Milan from September to December in the second module.
Is there an additional fee to be paid for the International Programs?
4 month Semester in Bocconi: No additional tuition fees are requested.

Will I need a visa to go for an International Program?
Yes. You will need a valid passport. Assistance for visa applications will be provided by us.
When do the Placements start?
Placement is facilitated through an on-campus visit by companies; most placement opportunities are placed in the final part of the IMB (January to March in the second module of the program). Offers for summer internships offers start from October of the first module.

Are all students required to live on campus?
Given the rigour of the course and Bocconi’s aim to build a small but highly interactive campus community, it is advised to stay in SDA Bocconi Asia Center’s Hostel. The availability of the same is based on first come first serve.
Do you provide accommodation for married students?
There are no special facilities for married students, but they can rent apartments near the campus with the help of management.
Do you have any quotas for NRI'S/SC/ST/BC?
SDA Bocconi Asia Center encourages applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds but we have no fixed quotas.
Are Indian and foreign applicants be evaluated on the same basis?
I have been offered Admission into IMB. However, I would like to defer my admission to the following year. How can I do that?
You may send in a request along with reasons (including supporting documents) by email and it will be referred to the Admissions Committee. Admission to the Program is valid for the year in which the application is submitted. Deferment may be requested for the year following the application, but confirmation of admission is at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.
Can the deferred admission be deferred for a further year?
No, further deferral will not be possible.
What would be the tuition applicable to me, if I wish to defer my admission?
Tuition fee payable is applicable to the class / year you will be enrolled in.
Will the admission fee be refundable, if I fail to join the programme, even after getting my admission deferred?
The initial admission fee of INR 250,000 + taxes as applicable is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Do I need 15 or 16 years of formal education?
As long as you have been awarded a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university, you are eligible to apply. The education may be 15 or 16 years.
How important are extra-curricular activities in the application?
We would like to admit well-rounded students. Extra-curricular activities add that extra dimension to your profile.
Will I need to buy text books?
Although most study material is included on IMB learning platform, periodically you may need to buy some textbooks for various courses
