Seema Khanvilkar is a Ph.D. in Management in the area of Communication and has been teaching the mechanics of the language for the last 18 years. Currently, she is with SDA Bocconi Asia Center formerly MISB Bocconi, as Professor, Business Communication. Earlier, she headed the Department of Communication at the School of Business Management and was Chairperson of the Soft Skills Development Centre at NMIMS University.
She teaches Business Communication to postgraduate as well as executive students. Seema is also a well known corporate trainer; she has trained middle level and senior management executives of both the private and the public sector in India as well as internationally.
Her clientele roster is impressive with corporates like Pitney Bowes, JP Morgan, Larsen and Toubro, Mercedes Benz, Novartis, Perrigo, Schindler, Holcim, Maersk India Ltd., Reliance Industries, Eicher Volvo, Taj Group of Hotels, Jindal Steel, Gas Authority of India Ltd., National Thermal Power Corporation, Union Bank of India, AFL, IITL, Mahindra Insurance, Unichem Laboratories to name a few. She has been the Communication Coach to the MD of Pitney Bowes, India.
She holds workshops on Presentation Skills, Written Business Communication, Analysis of Communication Styles, Assertive Behaviour, Business Etiquette, Business English, and Cross-Cultural Sensitivity. Her teaching and training methodology is highly interactive where students and participants are given a hands-on experience in learning the course. Using live case studies, demonstrations, role plays and reflective exercises, Seema facilitates rather than teaches, and provides an experiential learning outcome for her students.
Seema was invited to participate in the MBA Intensive Seminar at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. She also teaches an elective at IAE-AIX Marseille Graduate School of Management. A recipient of the Andrew Towl Foundation fellowship, she has attended the Executive Education program at Harvard Business School, Boston.
She has won the Best Faculty of NMIMS (2009-10) award and has been conferred with the Dewang Mehta award for the ‘Best Professor in General & Strategic Management’, 2012. She was also bestowed with the ‘Teaching Excellence’ award in April, 2015 by NMIMS University.
